The Department of Health has developed the Passport to Health brochure to inform families about the skills they should expect in their children during the first five (5) years and the warning signs that may indicate that the child is not is developing as expected. The Passport to Health It is given to each family at the time of registration of their baby in the Demographic Registry.
Additionally, as a strategy to strengthen developmental and ASD surveillance, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has launched the campaign, Learn the Signs. React Soon. Mrs. Nancy Nieves Muñoz of the Children with Special Medical Needs Division of the Department of Health, was appointed as its ambassador in Puerto Rico.
